It is a 1200 bedded facility that serves the surrounding area, up to and including part of the Eastern Cape. The hospital offers health services to the community at regional and district levels and has 17 clinics attached. The hospital is one of the sites for MTCT and has the largest crisis centre - now called the 'Place of Comfort'. Prince Mshiyeni's vision is to provide optimal health care to all patients in the catchment area; this is supported by the hospital mission and core values Directions: Take the N2 south freeway off ramp on R102-M30 (N) onto Mangosugthu highway Services offered at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial hospital Prince Mshiyeni memorial hospital has been designated as a District and Regional hospital. Services provided at Regional level of care use the expertise of general specialists for managing inpatients and outpatients referred from district hospitals. Services provided at District level of care provide non-specialist services to patients who are referred from our local clinics for inpatient and outpatient generalist care. Antiretroviral therapy This clinic is located in wardC3, clients are checked for CD4, if it is under 200 they qualify for ARVs They are then educated about ARVs their actions and side-effects. This clinic operates daily. This department operates Monday to Friday from 07h30 to 16h00. Physiotherapy Social worker The social workers at Prince Mshiyeni are committed to providing a quality and comprehensive psycho-social medical social work service to all patients of the catchment population, including their families and caregivers, using a multi-disciplinary approach and provide student training programme in accordance with the respective universities.
