Occupational Therapy: Rehabilitation therapy based on the philosophy that through 'doing' one can improve health.  It also focuses on three core areas of a person’s life, namely self-care, leisure and work.  Sebenza programs give patients the ability to work and learn skills (necessary when discharged).  The projects include industrial contract work as well as arts, crafts, making blocks and slabs, carpentry, vegetable gardening, shoe repairs and car washing. This helps them learn necessary skills to function independently in society.

Psycho-social rehabilitation: Psychological rehabilitation is a therapeutic intervention aimed at improving the psychological as well as social functioning of mental health clients.  The process requires community-initiated programmes to equip the clients with the basic skills, necessary for their successful integration into society.
